This book accurately describes the figures Hindu Mythology, why they came to be and what they have done. This work is primarily intended for the second generation of Indian-Americans who may not have the ready accessibility of Indian mythology as their parents did (through stories, narratives and even actual reading of the Purānas) in their youth. A compendium such as this is not available for quick reference, and that need is considered satisfied in this book.
